Twin Rivers PF hold annual banquet, announces projects

Korey Petersen of Manchester (left) had a great night, winning the Polaris 4-wheeler and the 3-gun raffle in which he received all 3 guns offered. Reese DeMeulenaere of Palo (seated) drew the winning ticket for Korey and his wife Christine.
The Twin Rivers Pheasants Forever chapter held its annual fundraising banquet Oct. 8 at the Berndes Center in Monticello.
At the banquet, the chapter announced that the 160-acre west addition to the Hale Wildlife Area is now fully funded, with the help of its fundraising efforts and the Iowa Wildlife Habitat Stamp Grant. The final appraised value is $1,174,000.
Improvements have been made to the area, including seeding upgrades, work on the pond and removal of useless scrub trees. It is open to the public.
The chapter also announced its newest project, a 30-acre addition at the McAndrews Wildlife Area in Clinton County, a purchase of $207,000.
The Twin Rivers Chapter Committee consists of members from Monticello, Cascade, Anamosa and the surrounding area.
About 450 people attended.
