Inducted into the Jones County Cattlemen Hall of Fame were Ralph Hosch and Peter Hosch of Cascade. The two brothers started farming in the 1970s, and continue the tradition of feeding cattle in Jones County to this day.

Ralph served on the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association, and was a member of the JCC for 20 years. Peter resides on the Heritage Farm, as did his grandfather, Pete Hosch, who was on the original cattlemen’s board in 1938; and his father, Ed, who farmed and fed cattle from 1950 until his retirement. Ed served on the Jones County Beef Board and was inducted into the original Hall of Fame.

Al Lubben Memorial Scholarships were presented to deserving students, as follows: Eldon Kurt of Cascade, $1,000; Taylor Gassman of Scotch Grove, $750; Grant Lubben of Anamosa, $500; and John Welter of Monticello, $500.

The Jones County Cattlemen also held their annual live auction, featuring 26 auction items, with Ivan Kurt serving as auctioneer. Rebecca Bonert of Iowa State University Extension and Outreach provided the invocation. A silent auction and door prize drawings were conducted as well.

Andy Petersen served as Master of ceremonies.
