Volunteers to collection donations for Ukraine during fair

     Concerned citizens and Monticello friends of Music Mission Kiev (MMK) will be collecting donations to send to Ukraine during the week of the Great Jones County Fair.

   Volunteers will be sent up in the outdoor picnic pavilion (previously home to the Kids’ Zone) by the playground. Tax-deductible donations can be made via cash or check. Checks can be made out to the Monticello Community Foundation.

   The Monticello community has hosted members of MMK several times over the years, and have forged many lasting friendships.

   In late March, Charlie Becker of Monticello shared his experiences of traveling to Ukraine earlier that month with members of the community. Becker and his son, Ched, provided needed medical supplies to the hospitals in Ukraine.

   That event raised $8,000.
