1. Why did you choose to re-run for County Supervisor? Why should Jones County voters cast their ballots in your favor? I choose to run again to continue to serve the people of Jones County. I have enjoyed my 12 years and I would like to continue to make Jones County a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
I am the most experienced board member that has a proven record of providing fiscally responsible, hardworking, dedicated leadership. I take a research-driven approach to make the best decision for Jones County. I have been an active member on the committees that I am assigned making sure to bring critical services to the county. In 12 years, I have attended all but two regular board meetings to make sure that I represent the people of Jones County to the best of my abilities.
2. What background/experience do you bring to the role of County Supervisor? I am a lifelong Jones County resident who has served on the Jones County Board of Supervisors for the last 12 years. I am very active on committees such as HACAP, ECR MH/DS Chairman, Public Health, Great Jones County Fair Board, and others.
3. What goals would you have if elected supervisor? My goals are to continue to improve services in a fiscally responsible manner. In the past seven years we have removed 42 of the 52 weight restricted bridges in the county. We have added or improved mental health services such as telehealth, peer support, and have regional access centers coming online. We have improved Central Park Lake by dredging it, making it ADA accessible, and improving camping areas.
We have been able to accomplish these projects and more in a fiscally responsible and hardworking manner that would be my goal and continue and to expand on.
4. What have you heard from voters regarding their concerns facing Jones County? How would you address those concerns? The biggest concerns I have heard are taxes and services. I will continue to address these concerns with fiscal responsibility and hard work. I will continue to be an advocate for Jones County on all committees that I am assigned. This has helped to increase food distribution services through HACAP. As the chair of the ECR MH/DS region I have been able to work with other member counties to assure that services are accessible to Jones County residents. In the 12 budgets I have been involved with, I have collaborated with the other board members and used a fiscally responsible approach to make sure that the budgets have come in as or better than projected and will continue to do so.
